A downloadable project

The realm of Adeglr was once a place of peace and tranquillity. A haven for those seeking a life free of strife and torments. It consisted of a series of interconnected planes, linked with portals. Each small self-contained plane happily existed alongside each of its neighbours. The Realm of Adeglr consisted of 12 tiers, each monitored and protected by a guardian. The entire interdimensional realm was protected by powerful magics and relics that prevented evil or conflict from entering within the boundaries of the realms.

Betrayal, as is often the case ended the tranquillity of the city and its inhabitants. Somehow a malign spirit worked upon the mind of a lowly member of the guardians who protected the city and persuaded them to deactivate just one single Rune, the powerful symbols protecting them all. That was all it took for the Dragon Lords to enter. Four beasts of legend, Evil Dragons of immense intellect, power and might who quickly subjugate each of the 12 tiers. Claiming the top 4 tiers for themselves to rule over and giving the lower tiers to their most trusted allies to rule in their names.

However, During their  defence of the realm of Adeglr, the last of its guardians tore asunder the spells that bound the fabric of the realms stability, breaking the portals that bound each plane to the other, throwing travel through the planes into chaos and slowing the spread of the dragons evil.

The centuries have past, and the fate of the realm fell into legend. It became simply known as Adeglr's Dungeon. Very few have ever ventured into it, none have returned. But there is a prophesy, that one shall enter and restore all the planes to order and restore the Dragon Rune.

Adeglr's Dungeon is a Pen and Paper solo RPG game that can be played with nothing more than 2 packs of everyday playing cards, a pencil or pen and some paper. No need for dice.  It will have a playstyle similar to traditional 'Choose your own adventures' with TTRPG elements.

The overall aim is to develop a Roguelike style computer RPG game at the same time as the printable rules are made. To allow different ways of playing the game.

The Aim of this project is to be able to let you the visitor, download a PDF rulebook version of the game that can be played using a couple of packs of everyday playing cards.

It is not quite there yet, there is still a lot of progress to be made. at the time of typing this, I have a web-based version of the random encounter generator working,  that you can explore that operates a little like the old choose your adventure books.

I have pages upon pages of notes on bits and bobs of the system so far, but I am also trying to build this as a standalone computer game as well, so progress is slow.
